Common questions
A shot’s preview loop isn’t moving
The small looping previews on the canvas are built on each device from the stored clip, so a shot that has just arrived from another device may show its still frame for a moment first. If one stays still: ⋯ → Settings → Rebuild previews. That throws them away and builds them again, and it’s safe at any time.
My boards aren’t appearing on my other device
Both devices need to be signed in to the same iCloud account with iCloud Drive on. The status readout at the top of the board list says what iCloud is doing — tap it for the full message. If it reports a problem, that message is the useful thing to send us.
Building the film takes a while the first time
Each shot is rendered once and then kept, so the first play of a new board is the slow one. After that, rearranging shots costs nothing to re-render and changing one shot re-renders only that shot.
The video files are bigger or smaller than I expected
⋯ → Settings → Recording quality, anywhere from 360p to 4K. It applies to shots added from then on; shots already on a board keep the size they were recorded at. Everything on a board crosses iCloud twice, so this is also the setting that decides how quickly a board reaches your other devices.
I was invited to a board and want to get rid of it
Swipe it away in the board list. On a board someone shared with you this is Leave — you lose access, and the board stays with the person who made it. Only its owner can delete it for everyone.
Can I get my footage out?
Yes, and without this app. Export offers the film as an MP4, the board as a PDF contact sheet, every shot as its own video, or one still per shot. Nothing is locked in.
